A ‘rags to riches’ story of England’s greatest social climbers!

Tony McAleavy tells the ‘rags to riches’ tale of William Stumpe who became one of England’s richest businessmen in the time of Henry VIII. He will track the progress of the Stumpe family in the centuries that followed as they became part of England’s aristocratic elite. Tony will conclude the evening with an astonishing revelation about the identity of one of William Stumpe’s descendants who is still alive today.

The talk will follow supper with a 2 course menu from The Old Bell

Supper will be served at 6:00pm but the bar will be open from 5:30pm
